The Timeshare Consumers Association ("TCA") has set up a number of Compensation Groups ("class actions") in conjunction with four leading law firms.
The compensation claims are in respect of alleged misrepresentation by various companies in the UK and abroad and will be made against credit card companies and/or banks who provided linked loans for the purchase.
The claims will be made under the Consumer Credit Act 1974
A successful claim under this Act means that the claimant should be able to recover ALL the money paid (irrespective of how it was paid ie:- credit card; debit card; cheque; cash, BACS; etc.) provided that a payment was made by credit card and the total purchase price was less than £30,000.
Where the claim relates to a linked loan a successful claim should also cancel the loan agreement.
The TCA does not make any charge to join the groups.
