John Palmer was sent to prison (May 2001) for eight years for defrauding an estimated 16,500 timeshare owners in Tenerife.

The resorts controlled by Palmer on Tenerife are:-

• Tenerife Royal Gardens
• Island Village
• Colonial Village
• Flamingo Club
• Club la Paz
• Parque del Sol
• Lagos de Fanabe - I and II (also known as Los Olivos)
• Montana Vista
• La Gomera Palms
• Village Heights
• Yucca Park

Palmer was ordered to pay compensation - averaging over £5,000 - to a randomly selected group of 400 victims. The other 16,000 were not awarded any compensation.

As a result, lawyers Irwin Mitchell are managing a "group" action on behalf of the other 16,000 victims.

If you bought into any of the Palmer resorts between 1989 and 1997 (inclusive) - or into Montana Vista at any time - you may qualify to make a claim for compensation.
